Dress Code Overview
Read the information below to get an overview of our dress code at Symmetry Dance Company. For class specific information, please visit our Class Directory.
👗Dancewear for Class:
• Any color leotard
• Any color tights
• No baggy t-shirts or sweatshirts (except for Hip-Hop)
• Optional: skirts, shorts, and shrugs in any other
👗Dancewear for Performances:
• Nude/tan leotard
• Black spaghetti strap leotard
• Pink & nude (tan) convertible tights
👟Shoes by Style:
• Ballet: Pink ballet shoes (neutral tone)
– Pointe: Pink pointe shoes (eligible Company dancers only)
• Tap:
– First Steps & Group levels: Black tap shoes
– Pre-Teen & Company levels: Tap tap shoes
• Hip-Hop/Jazz: clean white sneakers (no street shoes
• Acro: Tan half-soles, foot undeez, or bare feet
Company Level Only:
• Musical Theater: Tan jazz shoes
• Contemporary/Modern: Tan half-soles, foot undeez, or bare feet
💇Hair:
• Hair must be pulled back in a ponytail or bun
• Short hair should be pinned off of the face by using braids, boby pins, or hair clips
🧍♂️Boys:
• Dancewear for Class:
– T-shirt and comfortable pants or shorts
• Shoes by Style:
– Ballet: Black ballet shoes
– Tap: Black tap shoes
– Hip-Hop/Jazz: White sneakers (no street shoes)
