Description

At Symmetry Dance Company in Scranton, PA, our First Steps program is a playful introduction to ballet and tap for our youngest dancers, offering both structure and imagination in every class. The journey often begins with My Buddy & Me (ages 1.5+), a parent-assisted class each dancer is also paired with an older sibling or student mentor. This extra layer of support helps little ones feel safe and confident as they explore movement in a nurturing environment.

From there, dancers can transition into Creative Movement, which is offered both with and without a parent, depending on the child’s age and comfort level.

Both Buddy & Me and Creative Movement incorporate foundational ballet and tap skills, set in an age-appropriate, engaging format. Once dancers feel ready for more independence and rhythm-based fun, Mini Hip Hop is available as a high-energy add-on for ages 2 and up.

Tuition:

$45/month (1 class)
Optional Add-on: Mini Hip-Hop: $60/Month (2 classes)

Dress Code:

Attire & Shoes:

Any color leotard
Any color tights
- Students taking only Mini Hip-Hop: comfortable t-shirt and pants/shorts
Pink ballet shoes
Black tap shoes
- Mini Hip-Hop: White sneakers (no street shoes)

Hair:

Hair is to be secured away from the face, usually in a ponytail or bun
