Description
At Symmetry Dance Company in Scranton, PA, our Principal I Company Program challenges dancers to reach new levels of technical skill and artistic growth. Meeting twice each week, Principal I dancers take separate ballet, tap, and contemporary classes while also participating in combined Company classes in hip hop, jazz, modern, and an additional contemporary class alongside Senior and Principal II levels. This structure provides both individualized training and collaborative experiences, ensuring dancers develop versatility and strength across all styles.
Principal I dancers may also add Acro to enhance strength and flexibility. Pre-Pointe is available to eligible students who meet placement requirements, requiring at least five years of ballet experience and co-enrollment in ballet. Leaps & Turns is available for those seeking to refine precision and specialty skills.
This program is designed for dancers dedicated to pursuing excellence in technique and artistry, preparing them for Principal II Company and future opportunities beyond the studio.
Details
Tuition:
- $95-$115/month — 4-6 classes (+$10/month per class)
- $120-$130/month — 7-9 classes (+$5/month per class)
- Acro: +$25/Month ($60 standalone)
Dress Code:
Attire & Shoes:
- Any color leotard
- Any color tights
- Pink ballet shoes
- Tan tap shoes
- White sneakers (no street shoes)
- Tan jazz shoes or half-soles
- Acro: Foot undeez/Bare feet
Hair:
- Hair is to be secured away from the face, usually in a ponytail or bun
Boys:
- Comfortable t-shirt and pants/shorts
- Black ballet shoes
- Black tap shoes
- White sneakers (no street shoes)
- Black jazz shoes
- Acro: Foot undeez/Bare feet
Class Requirements
Beginning at the Sophomore level, Company students are required to attend a minimum of 2 days per week. Students who are unable to commit to this requirement may be enrolled in our Pre-Teen program, which meets one day per week.
Acro:
- Attendance of at least 2 Summer Acro Camp sessions
Pre-Pointe:
- Five years of previous ballet experience
- Attendance of at least 2 Summer Pre-Pointe/Pointe Conditioning sessions
- Concurrent Ballet enrollment
Contemporary:
- Concurrent Ballet enrollment
